I am an independent consultant and advocate, working with individuals and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). I also consult with organizations that work within the ASD community to find solutions to better serve their clients.
My role as a consultant and advocate is to navigate the complicated medical, social, educational, and emotional aspects of ASD in order to help others come to understand, accept, and appreciate the unique qualities of individuals on the spectrum.
I serve on the Editorial Advisory Board of Spectrums Magazine and contribute articles to the quarterly publication and recently accepted a position on the Board of Directors for Autism Empowerment. I facilitate and consult for social groups for adolescents and young adults with ASD in both Vancouver and Portland.
I earned a BS in Sociology at Valdosta State University and a Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Georgia and hold certifications in Autism Awareness.
As mom to a teenager with Asperger’s, I believe my combined personal and professional experiences offer a valuable perspective and action planning for families navigating life with ASD.
